Internship Program

Internship Details

  • Available year round in a variety of Town of Danville departments
  • Flexible term, usually 10 to 12 weeks
  • Interns are not compensated
  • Internships must be in relation to current college / university course work
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • When applying, please indicate what department you are interested in


The program provides participants with challenging work experiences while promoting an understanding of local government. It is an opportunity to gain experience in work related fields. Interns are assigned to specific departments and will acquire an overview of Town-wide services.


Once you have applied through the Volunteer Opportunities portion of this website, you will be contacted with next steps which start with a supplemental application and submission of a resume.

How to Apply

Please complete an online application on the Volunteer Opportunities page.

1. Create a new profile or log in to your existing profile. All of your information is secure and is not shared with outside parties. If you have previously volunteered with the Town, you already have a profile.

2. Sign up. Once you have logged into your new or existing profile, use ongoing Service Projects and you will submit an interest form / application, and complete an internship supplemental questionnaire.
