Improvements to Bicycle Routes

Bike Lane

With its expansive network of bicycle routes and trails, Danville has become an increasingly desirable riding destination for bicyclists.  Through its Capital Improvement Program, the Town continues to improve safety and enhance the bicyclist experience by investing in upgrades to bicycle facilities.  Recently completed projects have included the installation of green-colored, high-visibility pavement markings to bicycle lanes on Camino Tassajara, Sycamore Valley Road and Danville Boulevard.

The next phase of this project focuses on improvements to bicycle lanes on Diablo Road from the Downtown area to the Green Valley/Diablo Road intersection.  The project includes bike lane expansion, restriping and widening of existing, additional bike lane guide signage, and the addition of high-visibility pavement markings to guide bicyclists through heavily-traveled intersections such as the Interstate 680 on/off-ramps and Green Valley/Diablo Road intersection.

The project, funded by the Contra Costa Measure J ½-cent transportation sales tax, is expected to be completed this spring.
