Planning provides services that include processing of development applications, administration of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and the administration and enforcement of the Town’s Zoning Ordinance.  In addition, Planning prepares updates and amendments to the General Plan and other advanced planning documents and the corresponding development of ordinances to implement goals, policies and implementation measures set forth through those documents.

Planning staff works with the Planning Commission to promote projects with strong design features that will appropriately integrate into the community, while assuring full environmental protection.  This assures that new development complies with the General Plan, Zoning Ordinance, and all applicable area plans and design guidelines.  Planning Division also provides a responsive Code Enforcement program to assist with maintaining and promoting residents’ quality of life.
