  • Bicycle Safety

Our Goal is to teach Bike Safety tips to the residents of Danville. Bicycle Safety is an important issue that should be discussed with your children. Please remember that Bicycles riders (cyclists) on public streets have the same rights and responsibilities as automobile drivers and are subject to the same rules and regulations as any other vehicle on the road. The keys to safe bicycling includes being predictable, visible and  communicating your intentions to motorists:

When riding your bicycle please remember the following Safety Rules.

    • Always wear your helmet and make sure it properly fits
    • When you are crossing the street make sure you look both ways
    • Make sure your bike is ready to ride – all parts are secure and working properly
    • Check your equipment- inflate tires property and check that your brakes work
    • See and Be Seen – always wear neon,  fluorescent or other bright color
    • Control Your Bicycle – always ride with two hands on the handlebars
