High School

The Town of Danville provides resources and leadership for area High School students to provide programs, events, and services for students in grades 9 - 12. Schools which reside within the Town's incorporated boundaries include Monte Vista High School, San Ramon Valley High School, and Athenian. Valley Youth Council

The mission of the Valley Youth Council (VYC) is to provide teens the opportunity to represent the interests of their peers in the San Ramon Valley.

The VYC will be made up of high school members striving to improve their community. Sub-committees are established to complete the goals of the councils.

Become a Valley Youth Council Member

The Town of Danville will accept application for 2011-2012 Valley Youth Council in the Fall of 2011. Please check back for more information and application materials.  

Any San Ramon, Danville, or Alamo resident currently enrolled in high school is eligible to be a member of the Valley Youth Council.

Member duties:

Create an atmosphere where teens feel safe and comfortable to express themselves and their ideas.
Encourage the development community awareness of high school issues.
Promote interaction between the schools in San Ramon and Danville.
Act as an advocate for teens in the community.
Foster a greater involvement of youth in municipal government and civic affairs. 
Study problems, activities, and concerns of youth, especially as they relate to programs of the Town of Danville and the City of San Ramon.
